National Health Authority integrates 100+ health programs into Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

NHA ABDM ecosystem now includes A-HMIS, eSushrut, eSanjeevani 2.0, ESIC, Haryana e-Upchaar, and 33 private health apps. Milestone 2 (HIP) and Milestone 3 (HIU) integrations enable consent-based health record exchange.

Expanding the Digital Healthcare Delivery Ecosystem

The National Health Authority (NHA) under its flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is rapidly expanding the digital healthcare delivery ecosystem with successful integrations of more than 100 health programs and applications. These integrations include A-HMIS (Ministry of Ayush), eSushrut, eSanjeevani 2.0, ESIC, Haryana e-Upchaar, ANM Andhra Pradesh Health EHR, West Bengal Integrated HMIS, and various other healthcare solutions, along with 33 health apps from private sector innovators.

Building a Conducive Digital Health Ecosystem

Integrating digital health solutions with ABDM is a catalyst for building a digital health ecosystem conducive for all. These integrations are enabling more people to avail digital health services like ABHA account creation, access to and sharing of health records, instant registration for OPD services, and more.

Integration Milestones Achieved

All health applications integrated with ABDM (Milestone 1 complete) offer ABHA creation and verification services. 53 applications have completed Milestone 2 to become a Health Information Provider (HIP) — users can view, download, and manage health records on their PHR apps.

45 health applications have completed Milestone 3 to become a Health Information User (HIU) — these applications enable health-data exchange based on patient consent and authentication.

ABDM Sandbox

Integrations are achieved through the ABDM Sandbox, a digital space for testing integration before going live. Currently 778 active participants — Health Information Providers, Health Repository Providers, Health Information Users, Health Lockers.

Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS)

From January 1, 2023, NHA launched DHIS offering incentives of up to ₹4 crore to digital health stakeholders (hospitals, laboratories, health technology companies) for adopting ABDM-enabled services such as ABHA-linked health records and instant OPD registration via Scan and Share.

The Road Ahead

As the ecosystem expands, the NHA aims to achieve true interoperability — seamless data exchange and collaboration between stakeholders. The integration of 100+ health programs marks a significant milestone in India digital healthcare transformation.
